Atrial fibrillation, commonly known as a-fib, is the most prevalent form of heart arrhythmia. It remains underdiagnosed and undertreated despite its widespread occurrence. The American Heart Association reports that a-fib affects between 2.7 and 6.1 million Americans. This condition often leads to heart-related complications and increases the risk of stroke by five times.

Dr. Sanjaya Gupta, a cardiologist at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, discusses the importance of addressing atrial fibrillation promptly and highlights some recent advancements in treatment.
