Children's Mercy announces key leadership promotions

Children’s Mercy Kansas City has announced several leadership promotions aimed at enhancing clinical care, research initiatives, and regional expansion.

Stephanie Meyer, MS-FNP, RN, NEA-BC, has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Nursing Executive and Chief Operating Officer for Inpatient Operations. Meyer's 26-year tenure at Children’s Mercy includes roles such as Vice President of Patient Care Operations and Associate Chief Nursing Officer. In her new position, she will manage inpatient care operations and promote collaboration among healthcare teams.

Steven Leeder, PharmD, PhD, has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer. With 28 years at the institution, Dr. Leeder is recognized for his work in Pediatric Precision Therapeutics and contributions to the Children's Mercy Research Institute. He will continue to lead scientific research efforts aimed at improving patient care.

Amy Fallon, PhD, has been named President of Regional Operations. Previously serving as Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas, Dr. Fallon has played a key role in expanding the hospital's presence in Kansas. She will now oversee regional operations to ensure access to quality care.

Tomi Pastinen, MD, PhD, assumes the role of Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Clinical and Research Integration. As Division Director of Genomic Medicine for seven years, Dr. Pastinen contributed significantly to pediatric genomics through initiatives like Genomic Answers for Kids. He will focus on integrating research with clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.
