The Missouri Catholic Conference has expressed disappointment following the approval of Amendment 3, which establishes a constitutional right to abortion in the state. The organization emphasized its continued commitment to advocating for policies that protect human life and support vulnerable individuals.
In a statement, the Conference said, "We are saddened that Missouri voters chose not to safeguard vulnerable women and children by voting for Amendment 3. However, this result is not the end of our work." They assured their ongoing efforts to assist mothers and fathers facing unexpected pregnancies and provide healing for those affected by abortion.
The statement also acknowledged the dedication of supporters during the campaign. "We are grateful to the Catholic faithful, clergy, and all people of good will who worked tirelessly during this campaign to uphold the dignity of life and defend our state’s most vulnerable," it read.
The Missouri Catholic Conference reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the dignity of every human life and called for continued prayers and efforts towards greater societal recognition of this principle.
