Sporting Kansas City will travel to the northwest to face the Seattle Sounders on Sunday, August 24. The match is scheduled for 8:15 PM CT and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, FS1, and Fox Deportes.

The upcoming fixture is an important one in the Major League Soccer season. The two teams last met at Children’s Mercy Park last month, where the Sounders secured a 3-0 lead by halftime with goals from Jordan Morris, Alber Rusnak, and Jesús Ferreira. Sporting Kansas City responded in the second half with penalty goals from Dejan Joveljić and Santi Muñoz.

Dejan Joveljić has been performing well for Sporting Kansas City. He scored again last weekend in a 3-1 loss to Orlando. With 14 goals this season, he leads his team in scoring and has set a record for most goals by a new player in Kansas City since Preki's debut year in 1996. After scoring 15 goals last season with LA Galaxy, Joveljić could become only the third player in MLS history to score 15 or more goals in consecutive seasons with different teams. His next goal will mark his 100th professional club career goal.

Seattle Sounders are managed by Brian Schmetzer and currently hold fourth place in the Western Conference standings. This match is significant for them as it falls between their Leagues Cup fixtures. Last Wednesday, Seattle advanced to the semifinals after defeating Puebla and will play LA Galaxy next week for a spot in the Concacaf Champions Cup. Veteran goalkeeper Stefan Frei has returned to strengthen their defense, while Danny Musovski leads their attack this year with 10 goals and two assists.

Both teams are aiming for crucial points as they continue their campaigns.
