Children’s Mercy Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading pediatric hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings. The hospital achieved Top 50 status in nine specialties.

Two of its programs were ranked among the top 25 nationally: Nephrology at number 14, and Neurology and Neurosurgery at number 23. For the second year in a row, Children’s Mercy’s Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Health program was also included among the top 50, with all mental health programs receiving equal recognition.

“These rankings reflect the expertise, compassion and commitment the teams provide to patients and families every day,” according to a statement from Children’s Mercy.

The annual U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate hospitals across multiple specialties based on patient outcomes, available resources, and expert opinion.
