The Kansas City Chiefs held their fourth training camp practice on Friday morning as the team continued its preparation for the upcoming NFL season. The session featured notable performances from both veteran players and new additions to the roster.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes delivered a standout play during 11-on-11 drills, making an off-balance, sidearm throw while sprinting left and connecting with wide receiver Rashee Rice downfield. Mahomes also completed another sidearm pass to wide receiver Nikko Remigio earlier in the day during 7-on-7 drills.

Rookie safety Major Williams recorded a diving interception deep down the middle of the field during 11-on-11 drills. Williams joined cornerback Trent McDuffie and rookie linebacker Cooper McDonald as defenders who tallied interceptions on Friday. McDuffie's interception occurred during red zone 7-on-7 work, while McDonald secured his pick near the sideline in an 11-on-11 period.

Cornerback Jaylen Watson was noted for multiple pass breakups throughout practice, and linebacker Drue Tranquill broke up a deep pass in coverage during an 11-on-11 session.

Tight end Noah Gray caught a deep over-the-shoulder pass from Mahomes in 7-on-7 action. Wide receiver Hollywood Brown also made a significant catch over the middle during this period. Rookie Jalen Royals continued to impress with several receptions on short crossing routes, showing strength and fluidity early in camp. Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton made a difficult sideline catch, dragging both feet in bounds, while tight end Robert Tonyan had a one-handed grab deep over the middle during an 11-on-11 drill.

A competition at punter is underway between incumbent Matt Araiza and rookie Eddie Czaplicki, who won the Ray Guy Award in 2024 as college football's top punter. Special Teams Coordinator / Assistant Head Coach Dave Toub commented on their progress: "It's a good competition. I think we have two NFL punters," Toub said. "Matt probably has the edge over these first few days, but I expect – just because it was [all] new for him – for Eddie to [be] better next week. It's a real competition. We're going to take it into the [preseason] games and see who prevails."

On Friday's injury report, offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, cornerback Kristian Fulton, and tight end Tre Watson did not participate as they remain on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and have yet to take part in camp activities. All other players were present at practice.

The Chiefs will have Saturday off before returning Sunday for their fifth practice session of training camp, which will be their first padded workout.
