Governor Mike Kehoe has appointed Bryan Nickell of Sikeston as a judge to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District. Nickell is currently an attorney and partner at the Law Offices of Blanton, Nickell, Collins, Douglas, Hanschen, and Peters LLC. His legal practice focuses on litigation areas such as medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, banking law, and education law.
Nickell previously worked as a law clerk for the late Honorable Stanley A. Grimm, who served on the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District. In addition to his legal career, Nickell is involved in community activities. He serves as attorney and secretary for the Sikeston R-6 School Board and is an active member of the Sikeston Jaycees.
Nickell holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law. He will be filling the vacancy left by Judge Mary Sheffield's retirement.
