Sergeant Keanu Encinas of the United States Marine Corps will be honored as this week's "Tribute to the Troops" honoree, presented by Crown Royal, during the Kansas City Chiefs' home game against the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Sgt. Encinas, who serves as an administrator for the Marine Corps, spent three years stationed in Japan before transferring to Kansas City in 2023. He described his primary responsibilities: "My primary responsibilities included ensuring Marines were accurately paid, and managing their orders for deployments and temporary duty assignments. I also handled verifying that their awards and pay entitlements were correctly documented in their records."

In addition to his administrative duties, Sgt. Encinas emphasized his commitment to mentoring junior Marines. "One of the most important parts of my role has been mentoring junior Marines," he said. "As the next generation of service members, it's critical they develop the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties with competence and confidence. Supporting their growth has been a key responsibility that I take great pride in."

Reflecting on being recognized by the Chiefs organization, Sgt. Encinas expressed gratitude: "Thank you to the Kansas City Chiefs for recognizing military members. I truly appreciate this opportunity. Being stationed here in Kansas City for the first time, I'm grateful to be a part of such a welcoming and beautiful city."

The Chiefs' "Tribute to the Troops" program is part of a longstanding tradition at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where service members are recognized during every home game.
