Patrick Mahomes has established a notable record against the spread (ATS) since becoming the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2018, during his third career start and first game against a previous postseason team, Mahomes completed 23 of 28 passes for 326 yards and six touchdowns in a Week 2 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Additionally, this would be just the second instance where they have been home underdogs with Mahomes at quarterback; previously, they were listed as a 2.5-point home underdog against the Buffalo Bills in 2022.

This season presents a challenging schedule for Kansas City; ten of their seventeen opponents reached last year’s playoffs—a number surpassed only by Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles (each facing eleven playoff teams from last season).
