The Kansas City Chiefs have placed defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah on season-ending Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury. Anudike-Uzomah, who was preparing for his third year in the NFL, sustained the injury during last Friday's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

In response to this development, the Chiefs made several roster adjustments. The team signed defensive end Owen Carney and linebacker Xander Mueller. Additionally, rookie running back Elijah Young was waived.

Owen Carney previously played at the University of Illinois and returns to Kansas City after participating in part of training camp with the team last summer. Carney has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game and first entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2022.

Xander Mueller comes to the Chiefs following five years at Northwestern University. During his college career, he recorded 273 total tackles, 28 tackles-for-loss, and nine sacks over 46 games.

Both new signings will compete for roster spots as Kansas City concludes its preseason schedule on Friday night.
