Tracy Parker, a 37-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly possessing a firearm as a felon. The indictment claims that on October 23, 2024, Parker was found with a firearm despite having previous felony convictions. This incident followed his arrest in Jackson County on October 13, 2024, during which he reportedly dropped a 9mm handgun that officers later retrieved.

The indictment serves as an accusation and not proof of guilt. The evidence will be evaluated by a federal trial jury to determine Parker's guilt or innocence.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney James Kirkpatrick is prosecuting the case. The investigation was conducted by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative led by the Department of Justice to combat illegal immigration and dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime. The operation utilizes resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
