Sporting Kansas City II suffered a 3-1 defeat against The Town FC on Sunday night at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. Medgy Alexandre scored his second goal of the season after The Town established a 3-0 lead before the hour mark. Despite efforts to close the gap, SKC II could not overcome the deficit.

Head coach Istvan Urbanyi's lineup included goalkeeper Jacob Molinaro, returning for the first time since June 7. The defense featured Nati Clarke, Pierre Lurot, and Leo Christiano, with Anthony Samways, Cielo Tschantret, Gael Quintero, and Beckham Uderitz in midfield. Alexandre played as striker for the first time while Maouloune Goumballe and Shane Donovan were on the wings.

The Town initiated pressure early in the match. Quintero made a crucial intervention inside the box two minutes into play to prevent an attack without conceding a penalty. Shortly after, Clarke executed a successful tackle outside the box.

The Town's Cruz Medina attempted the first shot five minutes into play but was denied by Molinaro. SKC II responded with their own attempt from Uderitz that required Francesco Montali's attention.

Nonso Adimabua opened scoring for The Town in the 12th minute following an earlier miss over the crossbar. Donovan tried to counter with a free kick that connected with Tschantret’s shoulder but was cleared by The Town's defense.

Missael Rodriguez doubled The Town's lead in the 35th minute assisted by Adimabua. Quintero nearly reduced it moments later but missed narrowly.

Urbanyi made one change at halftime with Johann Ortiz replacing Uderitz. Adimabua scored again in the 53rd minute before Alexandre converted a penalty four minutes later after Tschantret was fouled inside the box.

Bryan Arellano replaced Quintero as SKC II's second substitute in the 64th minute. Wilson Eisner received a yellow card for a tackle on Alexandre near midfield shortly thereafter.

Adimabua missed an opportunity for a hat-trick when his shot went over in the 70th minute; Ariel Mbumba also received a yellow card which led to another chance for Alexandre that was deflected out for a corner.

Molinaro kept SKC II competitive with key saves including one against Chance Cowell late in regulation time while Goumballe sent another shot over goal as The Town secured victory maintaining their home record intact this season.

Sporting KC II will host North Texas SC next Friday at Children's Mercy Victory Field starting at 7:30 p.m., marking one of four matches within three weeks facing LAFC2 & Whitecaps FC2 away followed by Austin FCII back home.
