Sporting Kansas City II is set to face Austin FC II at Parmer Field in Austin, Texas, on Friday night. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and can be viewed live on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.

This encounter marks the second meeting between the two Frontier Division rivals during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Their first meeting on May 2 in Austin ended in a scoreless draw, with Austin FC II securing an extra point through penalty kicks.

Sporting KC II's last match was on June 7 against Houston Dynamo 2, where they earned a road point after a draw. Bryan Arellano scored his first goal of the season during this match, assisted by Maouloune Goumballe, who leads the team with three assists. Goumballe has started all twelve matches and logged a team-high of 1075 minutes.

Captain Cielo Tschantret follows closely with 1065 minutes played over twelve matches and has completed a team-leading 464 passes. Another key player for Sporting KC II is Nati Clarke, who has made eleven starts out of twelve appearances and scored his first professional goal against Colorado Rapids 2 on June 1.

Current Academy players Andrew Johnson and Luis Cruz-Ayala have each appeared in two games since signing amateur deals earlier this season. Both contributed defensively while SKC II played down a man for over thirty minutes against Houston. Anthony Samways will be unavailable due to suspension after receiving two yellow cards in that match.

Austin FC II, led by Brett Uttley, has achieved six positive results in their last seven matches and will host their first home game since drawing with Houston on May 30. Peter Grogan is their leading scorer with three goals this season.
