A Columbia, Missouri man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Victor S. Kee, 26, faces charges following an indictment in Kansas City, Missouri.

The indictment claims that Kee was found with a privately made firearm, specifically a Polymer80 Model PF940SC 9mm pistol without a serial number, along with 9mm ammunition. He is charged with one count of being a felon in possession of both a firearm and ammunition.

Federal law prohibits individuals convicted of felonies from possessing firearms or ammunition. Kee's criminal history includes convictions for tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, burglary, assault, and previous possession of a firearm as a felon.

The indictment serves as an accusation rather than proof of guilt. The responsibility to determine guilt or innocence lies with the federal trial jury upon reviewing evidence presented during the trial.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica L. Jennings is prosecuting the case. The investigation involved collaboration between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Missouri State Highway Patrol; and the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office in Missouri.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through cooperation among law enforcement agencies and community members. Initiated on May 26, 2021, this strategy emphasizes trust-building within communities, supporting violence prevention organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and evaluating outcomes.
