Michael L. Parson, 57th Governor of Missouri | Missouri Gov. Michael Parson
Today, Governor Mike Kehoe signed a bill renaming a section of Highway 60 in Newton County. The renamed portion will honor Natalie and David (Davy) Lloyd, who were the eldest daughter and son-in-law of former State Representative Ben Baker. The couple was tragically killed last year while serving as missionaries in Haiti.
The legislation, known as HB 810, designates the section of Highway 60 from Kodiak Road to Cemetery Road. This ends at the cemetery where Natalie and Davy Lloyd are buried. They were married on June 18, 2022, and began their mission work in Haiti in January 2023. On May 23, 2024, they were kidnapped and murdered by gang members in Port-au-Prince.
Governor Kehoe commented on the loss: "Every parent in Missouri feels the weight of this tragedy. The loss of Natalie and Davy is heartbreaking, and while no memorial can undo this grief, this highway stands as a permanent reminder of Davy and Natalie's lives of selfless service, grounded in faith and compassion. Today, we stand together with the Baker and Lloyd families, remembering their children's legacies and offering our heartfelt support."
