A federal grand jury in Jefferson City, Missouri, has indicted a Mexican national for firearm possession while unlawfully present in the United States and illegal re-entry after deportation.
Israel Ramirez-Jaramillo, 33, who was residing in Osage Beach, Missouri, faces charges of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and illegal reentry by a previously deported alien. The indictment states that Ramirez-Jaramillo was found with a SCCY model 9mm caliber pistol on April 20, 2025. It also alleges he was deported from the United States on July 13, 2011, and did not obtain consent from the Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.
The indictment's charges are accusations and not evidence of guilt. A federal trial jury will evaluate the evidence to determine guilt or innocence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Cecily L. Hicks is prosecuting the case. It was investigated by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) - Homeland Security Investigations, ICE - Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), and the Osage Beach Police Department.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, which aims to address illegal immigration and combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). The initiative utilizes resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
