Children’s Mercy Kansas City has announced a $152 million renovation and expansion project for its Overland Park hospital. This marks the first significant upgrade for the facility in approximately two decades.
The project's scope includes expanding surgical services, building a new medical facility on the existing campus, and implementing other service enhancements and updates throughout the site. The development is part of the hospital's broader strategy to extend its reach across Kansas. Recently, Children’s Mercy revealed plans for an 18,000-square-foot clinic in Wichita.
Amy Fallon, president of regional operations for Children's Mercy Kansas City, highlighted the broader impact of the expansion. “We know when we grow in Kansas, it doesn't just benefit our Kansas hospital. It benefits our entire health system,” she stated. “As we grow in Kansas and take care of kids here, we know that we also grow and create capacity for our Adele Hall campus.”
The upgrade is a considerable undertaking aimed at bolstering the hospital's capacity and service offerings in response to the growing needs within the community.
