Parson concludes term by granting pardons and commutations

Governor Mike Parson of Missouri has granted 16 pardons and approved nine commutations, concluding the remaining clemency petitions of his administration. This decision is in accordance with Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Missouri. The official documents have been filed with relevant government agencies and sent to the individuals involved.

In addition to these actions, Governor Parson denied 23 clemency petitions. As a result, the Governor's Office currently holds no pending clemency petitions. Upon taking office, Governor Parson inherited a backlog of over 3,500 clemency requests and received hundreds more during his tenure. Overall, he has addressed nearly 4,000 clemency petitions. "Governor Parson prioritized providing individuals an answer, whether approved or denied."
