TG Missouri, a division of Toyoda Gosei, has announced plans to expand its operations in Perryville with an investment of approximately $97 million over the next three years. This decision follows Governor Mike Parson's trade mission to Japan last year. The expansion will ensure the maintenance of at least 1,600 full-time jobs in Perryville.

Governor Parson expressed his enthusiasm for TG Missouri's growth: "We’re excited to see TG Missouri continuing to grow in Perryville after our visit with Toyoda Gosei in Japan last year." He added that this significant investment is a result of international trade missions aimed at encouraging such developments.

The expansion involves installing new equipment and further automation at TG Missouri's facility, which serves as the main location for TG North America. Operating since 1987, the company produces automotive parts like steering wheels and airbags. Its customer base includes regions across the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Mexico, and Taiwan.

Robert Patrick, President of TG Missouri, emphasized the company's longstanding presence in Perryville: “TG has been in the Perryville community for over 35 years... Our focus on quality and innovation extends beyond our products.”

Perryville Mayor Larry Riney highlighted the importance of this opportunity: “Toyoda Gosei is a world-wide industry... We greatly value this opportunity to work together.”

Becky Willard from the Hawthorn Foundation noted the benefits of trade missions: “Providing the opportunity for the Governor to meet with companies already established in Missouri is a major benefit.”

Governor Parson met with Toyoda Gosei executives during his October 2023 trade mission to Japan. No state incentives were used for this expansion. The move underscores strong international relationships and highlights Missouri as an attractive business investment location.

Japan remains a key trade partner and source of foreign direct investment for Missouri. Governor Parson’s trade missions have led to nearly 2,000 new jobs and over $3 billion in business investments statewide.

Local leaders praised TG Missouri's commitment. Brent Buerck from Perryville called them "unsung heroes," while Crystal Jones from Perry County Economic Development Authority acknowledged their role in strengthening local workforce and economy.

Michelle Hataway from the Department of Economic Development stated: “DED is pleased to see TG Missouri continue to help Missourians prosper in Perryville.”
