Governor Mike Parson has signed Executive Order 24-16, which mandates the closure of state offices at noon on December 24, 2024. The decision aims to allow state employees to spend more time with their families during the Christmas season.
In a statement addressed to Missouri state team members, Governor Parson said, "Today, we signed Executive Order 24-16 closing state offices on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12 p.m. As we prepare to leave office and spend more time with our own family and friends, we understand the importance and joy for all of you in doing the same during the Christmas Season."
Governor Parson expressed his gratitude towards public servants in Missouri: "Additionally, as this may likely be our final message directly to you, our state team, we want to again express our sincerest appreciation to each and every one of you for your service to our state and the people of our state. More than six million Missourians are better off thanks to public servants like you having their backs day in and day out."

The statement concluded with holiday wishes from Governor Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson: "May you and your families have a safe and joyful Christmas and receive many blessings in the coming year. Whether as your Governor and First Lady or as private citizens, we will continue to pray for the safety, health, and happiness of you and your families. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
