Jess Tolan Klock is the Manager of Early Childhood Education at Teach For America - Kansas City, an organization that partners with United Way.
Jess advises AAPI children growing up today "to be proud and be loud about your identity as a member of the AAPI community. You can and will do amazing things, do it while representing all of who you are. And be proud of your specific heritage, let people know, for me it's, 'I am a proud Chinese-American woman'."
She loves reading books about her heritage with her son, particularly: “Eyes that Kiss in the Corner” by Joanna Ho and “I Am Golden” by Eva Chen.
