The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night, aiming for their third consecutive win in a prime-time matchup.

According to the latest injury reports, Chiefs cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle) and defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (shoulder) are both listed as questionable. Fulton has missed two games after an early injury in Week 2, while Norman-Lott suffered his shoulder injury during Friday’s practice. Head Coach Andy Reid commented on Norman-Lott's status: "We'll just see how he does over the next few days." Additionally, wide receiver Xavier Worthy was added to the injury list on Sunday with ankle and shoulder concerns.

For the Jaguars, defensive end Travon Walker is also questionable after undergoing wrist surgery earlier this week. Walker is second on the team in quarterback pressures this season.

Last week, Kansas City delivered its most complete performance of the year, winning by a 17-point margin—their largest since defeating Miami by 19 points in last season's playoffs. The Chiefs scored 37 points, their highest total since Week 3 of last year. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes reflected on what contributed to that success: "The execution, I think, was the biggest thing," Mahomes said. "Obviously, the guys made plays, and we were able to score a lot of points, but I'm always big on the execution – executing on the plays that are called and everybody being on the same page. I think that was something we did at a very high level this last game, and something that we can hopefully continue to do as the season goes on."

The Jaguars come into Monday’s contest leading the NFL with 13 takeaways so far this season—a significant improvement from only nine turnovers forced all of last year. They have converted these takeaways into league-leading numbers for possessions starting in opponent territory (9) and points following turnovers (41), accounting for nearly half their total scoring output.

On offense for Jacksonville, running back Travis Etienne has become a key contributor after previously sharing duties with Tank Bigsby—who was traded to Philadelphia before this season began. Etienne currently ranks third in rushing yards across the league with 394 yards through four games and is averaging 6.1 yards per carry.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has posted an average time-to-throw of just 2.57 seconds this season—the second-fastest among NFL quarterbacks behind Aaron Rodgers of Pittsburgh at 2.48 seconds. Lawrence has been sacked only three times so far due largely to his quick release; however, he leads all quarterbacks in passing attempts between ten and nineteen yards but has attempted few deep passes over twenty yards.

Disrupting Lawrence’s timing will be crucial for Kansas City’s defense if they hope to secure another victory and achieve a winning record for the first time in 2025.
