Tyler Kirby has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President of the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced Friday. Kirby becomes the first person to hold the Chief Revenue Officer position for the club.
"After conducting a thorough national search in which we interviewed numerous talented and qualified applicants for our open partnership executive role, we are thrilled to name our own Tyler Kirby as the club's first Chief Revenue Officer," said Chiefs President Mark Donovan. "Assembling, developing, and retaining a talented staff is one of our priorities. Promoting Tyler from within is not only a recognition of the tremendous work he's done throughout his tenure, but it's also an acknowledgement of the opportunity for our existing staff who will be under his leadership as they continue executing our partnership development and service strategy on a daily basis."
Kirby has worked with the franchise for 18 seasons. He most recently served four years as Executive Vice President of Business Development, overseeing ticketing, premium and hospitality sales, client services, and performance marketing.
In his new role, Kirby will continue leading business development efforts while expanding oversight to include corporate partnerships and local broadcast partner rights. His responsibilities also extend to guiding partnership initiatives tied to international commercialization through the NFL's Global Markets Program.
"The past 18 seasons with the Chiefs have been an incredible experience for my family and me and have allowed countless opportunities for growth both personally and professionally," Kirby said. "I've been very fortunate to work alongside a great team and have tremendous support from the Hunt family, and I'm honored to expand my role to support our corporate partners and the internal team that delivers the service and solutions they need and deserve."
Kirby began with the Chiefs in 2008 as a Ticket Sales Representative. He advanced through several positions including Ticket Sales Manager (2011-12), Director of Ticket Sales and Operations (2013-16), Vice President of Ticketing (2017-20), Vice President of Business Development (2021), before becoming Executive Vice President of Business Development in May 2022.
Under his leadership, the club has consistently ranked among league leaders in ticketing. He played a key role in enhancing digital marketing strategies using data-driven approaches at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. His efforts included launching new premium offerings for fans. Kirby also participates in multiple NFL committees.
Kirby holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration from Illinois State University and an MBA in marketing from University of Missouri – Kansas City's Bloch School of Management. In 2024 he was recognized by Sports Business Journal's Forty Under 40 list. He is also involved locally as an alumnus of KC Chamber's Centurions Leadership Program (2017-18) and serves on YMCA of Greater Kansas City's board.
