Kansas City Chiefs fans in Mexico City participated in a series of events to mark the start of the 2024 NFL season. The campaign, titled "El Kingdom se escucha en todo el mundo," transformed the Glorieta de Cibeles into a space resembling GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Organizers set up a red sofa, themed murals, flags, and an imitation football field for attendees.
The event continued at the NFL Experience, where fans engaged in special activities before the Chiefs' game against the Chargers and followed other Week 1 NFL matchups. Over three days, more than 1,000 fans attended and received about 700 personalized photos.
Organizers highlighted the red sofa as a symbol of how support for the Kansas City Chiefs extends beyond borders. They stated that it demonstrates how enthusiasm for the team can be felt anywhere there are dedicated fans.
A notable moment was when organizers selected "Corrido mío," composed by José Ernesto Castro, as an anthem in Spanish through social media channels. According to organizers, this song added authenticity and brought together tradition with passion for the Chiefs among Mexican supporters.
