Sporting Kansas City II will face Houston Dynamo 2 at Children's Mercy Victory Field this Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. CT. Tickets are available for $10 through SeatGeek.com, and the match can be streamed on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
This is the third and final meeting between the two teams in the 2025 season and the first time they play each other in Kansas City this year. In their previous encounter, Sporting KC II led by one goal at halftime, but Houston Dynamo 2 quickly equalized after the break. Despite playing much of the second half with a player disadvantage, SKC II managed to secure a draw on the road.
Bryan Arellano, who hails from Texas, scored in that draw against Houston and has contributed two goals and one assist in nine starts this season. Medgy Alexandre leads SKC II with eight goals in 2025 and has scored six times in his last four matches.
Maouloune Goumballe, an Indiana University graduate, leads SKC II with three assists. He scored both of his goals during consecutive team victories earlier this season. Shane Donovan, a product of the club's academy system, has provided two assists over 17 starts in 19 appearances.
Goalkeepers Jack Kortkamp and Jacob Molinaro have shared duties throughout the season. Kortkamp has started nine games with 39 saves and one shutout; Molinaro has made eight starts, recorded 34 saves, and also earned a shutout. Molinaro was in goal for SKC II’s recent draw in Houston.
Houston Dynamo 2 is coached by Marcelo Santos and currently sits in eleventh place in the Western Conference standings, three points behind MNUFC 2 and just outside playoff position. The team has struggled recently with three losses in their last four matches and only one win away from home this season. Their top scorer is Stephen Annor Gyamfi with six goals, including one against SKC II.
Following Sunday’s match, Sporting KC II will travel to play St. Louis CITY2 on August 24 at Energizer Park. That game is set for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff and will also be available to stream on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.
