The Kansas City Chiefs held their 14th training camp practice on Thursday morning, as they continued preparations for the upcoming NFL season. The session was open exclusively to Season Ticket Members, marking the second such event of this year’s camp. Fans attending the practice participated in an annual pancake breakfast and a team autograph session following the workout.

Wide receiver Xavier Worthy stood out during drills, making several notable plays including a deep catch while being tackled by two defenders. Jason Brownlee also impressed with multiple contested catches in the end zone. On defense, rookie linebacker Cooper McDonald intercepted a pass and broke up another play, while safety Chamarri Conner recorded a pass-breakup during 7-on-7 drills.

Cornerback Kristian Fulton returned to limited participation after recovering from offseason knee surgery. He had missed the first 13 practices but is expected to play a key role in the secondary once fully healthy.

Head Coach Andy Reid outlined plans for Saturday’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals, stating: "We'll [base] it off the quarterbacks. They'll each get a quarter," Reid said. "The first one will be Pat, the second will be [quarterback Gardner] Minshew, then [quarterback Bailey] Zappe, then [quarterback] Chris [Oladokun] at the end there. Each one will get a quarter, and then everybody [else] follows that as we go." Reid further explained: "It's important that they get in. They're in front of some bright lights, and it takes it up one more notch," Reid said. "It's not quite the season, but you're still in front of a big crowd, and [you're playing] against another team. Your adrenaline gets pushed to another level, and let's see how we do."

The injury report for Thursday included wide receivers Rashee Rice (groin) and Hollywood Brown (ankle), linebacker Cam Jones, and tight end Jake Briningstool (hamstring). Running back Brashard Smith left early with a finger injury but is expected to be fine according to Coach Reid. Linebacker Drue Tranquill returned on a limited basis after missing time due to back issues; Rice’s groin injury was described as minor.

The Chiefs are scheduled to travel to Phoenix on Friday ahead of their preseason matchup against Arizona.
