Sporting Kansas City will host San Diego FC at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday, August 9, 2025, with kickoff scheduled for 7:45 PM CT. The event is part of the club's annual Sporting Salutes night, which recognizes veterans and active duty military members.
The club has announced that there will be a range of activities before and during the match. These include a pregame flyover, on-field recognitions, and displays of military vehicles on the plaza. Fans with a military ID can take advantage of a special deal: a 25oz Corona and value menu nachos for $10.
“Sporting KC is proud to honor our veterans and active duty military this weekend. From a pregame flyover to on-field recognitions and military vehicles on the plaza, it promises to be a memorable gameday from start to finish,” according to the club.
Limited-edition Sporting Salutes scarves and hats are available in store and online through Sporting Style. Fans can shop online for pickup at the stadium or purchase items during game day.
Children’s Mercy Park uses pyrotechnics and strobe lighting effects throughout matches. Attendees with medical conditions or light sensitivity should be aware of these features.
Supporter Stand ticket holders and Season Ticket Members are invited to gather in the Budweiser Brew House before kickoff for specials and an opportunity to welcome players as they arrive at the stadium.
The venue continues its use of Amazon Just Walk Out technology at one SportingStyle store location (east side, top of section 131). Shoppers can select items, swipe their card at checkout kiosks, and leave without waiting in line; no Amazon account or pre-registration is required. Sporting Pay is not accepted at this location.
Fans are encouraged to review parking information available at https://www.sportingkc.com/stadium/parking prior to arrival. All transactions inside Children’s Mercy Park are cashless; mobile ordering for merchandise and concessions is available via the Sporting KC app.
Entry procedures have been updated with Google Fiber Fast Lanes installed this season for quicker access into the stadium. To streamline entry further, fans are advised not to bring bags if possible. Only clear bags measuring up to 12” x 12” x 6” are permitted after inspection by security staff; backpacks—including clear ones—are not allowed inside the venue. Small clutch purses (4.5” x 6.5” or smaller) may also be brought in after inspection.
All tickets must be managed digitally through SeatGeek Account Manager; screenshots will not be accepted at entry points, so fans should transfer tickets ahead of time as needed.
Wearing opposing team colors or gear in the Supporters Stand is prohibited; violators will have their seats relocated elsewhere within Children’s Mercy Park.
Smoking—including e-cigarettes—and smokeless tobacco products remain banned throughout all areas of Children’s Mercy Park.
