A Kansas City man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for illegal possession of firearms and drug trafficking. Victor Roseberry, 60, was charged in a three-count indictment returned under seal on June 27, 2025.
The indictment was unsealed following Roseberry's arrest. He faces two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
The charges allege that Roseberry possessed firearms on June 9, 2023, and July 4, 2024. On July 4, 2024, he allegedly possessed five or more grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. The indictment identifies Roseberry as an armed career criminal due to his prior felony convictions.
Roseberry's past includes convictions for robbery, domestic assault, aggravated assault, tampering, and possession of a firearm by someone with three prior convictions for crimes of violence.
"The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations," reads the release. "Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury."
If convicted under federal statutes, Roseberry could face up to life in prison without parole. Sentencing will be determined by the court after a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica L. Jennings is prosecuting the case. It was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Kansas City Police Department.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America—a nationwide initiative involving resources from various task forces aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators.
