Sporting Kansas City Homegrown goalkeeper Jack Kortkamp took part in the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate on Monday at Parmer Field in Austin, Texas. Kortkamp was among 44 players chosen for the event and played throughout the second half.

"The West opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, right on the cusp of the first half hydration break. The East leveled in the third minute of stoppage time with the final kick of the first half."

In an eventful match, "the contest opened up in the second with the East scoring just seven minutes in. The West equalized in the 72nd minute, again right before a hydration break, but the East reclaimed the lead minutes later." A defensive mistake allowed "the West their third goal of the contest in the 82nd minute," but a penalty from "the East in the 85th minute brought" it to a close with a scoreline of "4-3...in favor of" them. Kortkamp made a notable save during his time on field.

Born in Oakville, Canada and raised in Maple Grove, Minnesota, Kortkamp developed through Sporting KC Academy from U-14 to U-19 levels between 2021 and 2024. He signed as a Homegrown Player with Sporting Kansas City last December, becoming Major League Soccer's youngest active goalkeeper.

Kortkamp trained with Sporting’s first team during their Miami preseason camp last year and signed an amateur contract with Sporting KC II that May. His debut came at Real Monarchs that June, one of three starts including a home victory over LAFC 2. In this year's MLS NEXT Pro campaign he has made seven starts and recorded 29 saves.

A regular member of US Youth National Teams, Kortkamp is one of eight Americans selected for all three U-17 training camps plus Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers during this cycle. He represented USA starting from October 2022 at Compass Minerals National Performance Center and debuted against England and Japan U-15 teams back in April 2023.

Sporting Kansas City will visit Vancouver Whitecaps FC this Saturday evening while Sporting Kansas City II faces LAFC2 Sunday night followed by Whitecaps FC2 next Thursday.
