A Mexican national has been charged in federal court for unlawful reentry after deportation. Juan Sebastian Celedon-Cardenas, 38, faces a one-count complaint of illegal reentry by a previously deported alien. According to the complaint, Celedon-Cardenas had been removed from the United States four times: March 29, 2010, March 15, 2016, August 19, 2016, and July 26, 2017.

The charges are accusations and not evidence of guilt. The evidence must be presented to a federal trial jury responsible for determining guilt or innocence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad K. Kavanaugh is prosecuting the case following an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Enforcement and Removal Operations.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice to address illegal immigration and combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). The operation aims to protect communities from violent crime perpetrators by utilizing resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
