An Independence, Missouri man has been charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm. Daryl O.D. Beck, 37, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 15, 2025. The charges include being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. Beck has previous felony convictions for possession and intent to manufacture a controlled substance, as well as aggravated assault. The indictment was unsealed following Beck’s initial court appearance.

Federal law prohibits individuals convicted of felonies from possessing firearms or ammunition. The charges against Beck are accusations at this stage, not evidence of guilt. A federal trial jury will review the evidence to determine his guilt or innocence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad K. Kavanaugh is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the Independence Police Department.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators.
