Sporting Kansas City will host New York City FC at Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday night, marking the first time since 2018 that NYCFC visits this venue. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. CT and will be available for streaming on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV. Local radio coverage will be provided by Sports Radio 810 WHB, and tickets can be purchased through SeatGeek.com.

Sporting Kansas City's recent three-game unbeaten streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss against the Seattle Sounders. Interim head coach Kerry Zavagnin has guided the team to a record of 6-6-4 since March, with Sporting scoring 29 goals in this period.

This upcoming game is significant as it is Sporting's first home match against NYCFC since a defeat in March 2018. The last encounter between these teams was a scoreless draw at Citi Field in May 2022.

Forward Dejan Joveljic remains a key player for Sporting KC, having scored his 13th goal of the season during the match against Seattle Sounders. He now leads the team with 15 goal involvements and has contributed to eight consecutive matches, setting a club record for newcomers.

Santiago Munoz has been impactful off the bench for Sporting KC, scoring three goals in just nine appearances this season. His performance includes assisting Dejan Joveljic's winner against Charlotte FC last month.

Midfielder Jacob Bartlett is set to return from suspension after missing one game due to yellow card accumulation. The young Academy product had started every match from late March until early July before his suspension.
