Darell Farmer, a 30-year-old Kansas City resident, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of illegal firearm possession and drug-related offenses. The indictment claims that on May 5, 2025, Farmer was found in possession of two firearms as a felon and intended to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. His arrest followed an apparent shooting in Kansas City, Missouri.
During the arrest process, police noticed a handgun in Farmer's vehicle. Subsequent searches revealed substantial amounts of controlled substances and another handgun located in the car's trunk.
The indictment serves as an accusation rather than proof of guilt. Evidence must be presented to a federal trial jury responsible for determining guilt or innocence.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney James Kirkpatrick is prosecuting the case. The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service and Midwest Fugitive Task Force.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators.
