A photograph can capture a moment, preserving it in time and telling a story. Over the next few days, 10 of the best photos from the 2024-25 season will be showcased with commentary from Steve Sanders, Director of Photography for the Chiefs.

The focus is on photo No. 4 titled "A Tear," taken during the AFC Championship Game against Buffalo. The subject of the photo is Chris Jones, a defensive tackle who shed a tear during the National Anthem. The image was captured by Steve Sanders using a Cannon EOS R1 camera with specific settings to highlight this emotional moment.

Sanders explained why he included this photo in the collection: "You know, Chris seemed to have a lot of emotion this year...you can just tell that this game meant a lot to him." He added that he shared an intense moment with Jones while taking the shot.

The decision to make the photo black and white was intentional. Sanders stated: "I wanted to really emphasize that emotion and the feeling his face is conveying...it has a lot of feeling and texture to it."

On capturing such moments up close, Sanders commented: "This job is all about relationships...Chris has been here a long time. He and I have a great relationship."
