A Bolivar, Missouri man has been sentenced to 48 months in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm. Timothy E. Parker, 29, received the sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Stephen R. Bough and will also undergo three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Parker pleaded guilty on September 25, 2024, to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The incident leading to his arrest occurred on September 23, 2023, when Greene County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a U-Haul vehicle driven by Parker. Instead of stopping, Parker initially fled but eventually pulled over. A search revealed a loaded Taurus G3C pistol concealed in a chest sling holster. Deputies also found additional items including ammunition, a gun holster, a lock picking set, and methamphetamine.

The pistol and holster had been reported stolen earlier that month. Federal law prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms or ammunition. Parker's criminal history includes felony convictions for property damage, forgery, burglary, driving stolen vehicles, and resisting arrest.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Carney prosecuted the case with investigations conducted by the Greene County Sheriff's Office and the FBI.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through community collaboration and strategic enforcement priorities.
