Three men have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Missouri, for illegally re-entering the United States after being previously removed. The indictments were handed down in separate and unrelated cases.

Elmer Abel Flores-Alvarez, 27, faces charges of illegal reentry as a previously removed alien. He was reportedly removed from the U.S. on two occasions: April 6, 2018, and October 9, 2019.

Juan Jose Esparza-Gallardo, 33, has also been charged with illegal reentry. His previous removals from the U.S. occurred on April 19, 2017, and July 14, 2017.

Gilberto Javana-Zuniga, 41, is facing similar charges following his removal from the U.S. three times: November 3, 2011; February 25, 2013; and March 8, 2013.

The indictments are accusations at this stage and do not constitute evidence of guilt. It is up to a federal trial jury to assess the evidence presented and determine guilt or innocence.

These cases were investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Enforcement and Removal Operations as part of Operation Take Back America. This initiative involves the Department of Justice's resources to combat illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while aiming to protect communities from violent crime perpetrators.
