The Kansas City Chiefs have secured the No. 2 position in Pro Football Focus' (PFF) latest rankings of the NFL's top secondaries, coming in just behind the Baltimore Ravens.

Pro Football Focus highlighted the Chiefs' secondary as a cohesive unit that excels despite lacking household names. "While the Chiefs may lack household names, their secondary is a cohesive unit that performs at a high level," PFF stated. Leading this group is Trent McDuffie, who has been recognized as potentially the best cornerback in the NFL, having achieved the highest advanced coverage grade over the past two seasons. Additionally, cornerback Jaylen Watson and safety Jaden Hicks received strong coverage grades of 71.6 and 75.7 respectively for their performances in 2024. The team also strengthened its lineup by acquiring Kristian Fulton through free agency and drafting Nohl Williams in the third round.

The Chiefs' commitment to enhancing their secondary has proven successful in recent years, contributing to a top-four scoring defense for two consecutive seasons. With another promising lineup under contract for 2025, there is potential for even greater defensive achievements in the upcoming season.

For those interested in viewing all rankings, more information can be found on PFF's website.
