Today in St. Louis, Governor Mike Kehoe signed two significant pieces of legislation aimed at fostering economic development and supporting local industries.

At a ceremony held at Union Station, Governor Kehoe signed House Bill 199 into law. This bill allows for the creation of a special entertainment district in downtown St. Louis. The legislation was sponsored by Representative Bill Falkner and Senator David Gregory and includes modifications to over 30 provisions related to political subdivisions.

The new law enables several changes, including allowing the St. Charles Conventions and Sports Facilities Authority to receive state tax incremental financing without needing a local TIF first. It also permits Benton, Camden, Miller, Morgan counties, and the City of Lake Ozark to establish entertainment districts. Additionally, it extends eligibility for the Waterways and Ports Trust Fund to the St. Louis Port Authority.

Governor Kehoe expressed his commitment to revitalizing downtown St. Louis: "I’m proud to be born and raised in St. Louis and remain committed to revitalizing downtown."

In another event at Anheuser-Busch's St. Louis Brewery, Governor Kehoe signed House Bill 1041 into law alongside Missouri brewers from across the state. This bill modifies regulations for alcoholic beverages by reducing malt liquor tax rates for American Breweries and expanding donation allowances for charitable purposes.

"We are proud to sign this legislation today," said Governor Kehoe regarding HB 1041, also known as the American Beer Act.
