A Leavenworth, Kansas man has been sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for crimes involving the enticement of a minor and production of child pornography. Antoine Askari Richardson, aged 27, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge D. Gregory Kays. The charges included one count of using an interstate facility to entice a minor into illegal sexual activity and one count of producing child pornography.
Richardson, who was previously a graduate student and employee at a private university in Leavenworth, pleaded guilty on February 27, 2025. According to court documents, he met a 15-year-old victim through a social media application and traveled to Grain Valley, Missouri multiple times between November 2022 and January 2023 to engage in sexual acts with the minor. These acts were recorded on his phone and sent back to the victim. Additionally, Richardson admitted to engaging in explicit conversations with another minor online and attempting to meet them across state lines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maureen A. Brackett is prosecuting the case which was investigated by multiple agencies including the Missouri State Highway Patrol and local police departments in Grain Valley and Leavenworth.
Upon release from prison, Richardson will be required to register as a sex offender under both federal and state laws.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation nationwide. The program coordinates resources at various levels to prosecute offenders and rescue victims.
