Sporting Kansas City II is set to host Portland Timbers 2 at Children's Mercy Victory Field on Saturday. This match marks their first home game since June 1st. Tickets for the noon kickoff are available on SeatGeek.com, and fans can stream the game on MLSNEXTPro.com.

The upcoming match presents an opportunity for Sporting KC II's offense to capitalize against a Portland team that has conceded 31 goals, the second-highest in the Western Conference. Portland has struggled on the road, securing only one result away from home this season. In their recent encounter with Houston Dynamo 2, SKC II managed a 1-1 draw despite being down a player for over half an hour.

Maouloune Goumballe, now in his second year with SKC II after playing at Indiana University, continues to be a key player with three assists so far this season. He leads the team in starts and minutes played. Captain Cielo Tschantret has also been pivotal, starting all matches and contributing both defensively and offensively.

Forward Bryan Arellano scored his first goal of the season recently and will be looking to build on that performance. Defender Anthony Samways returns from suspension just in time for this crucial fixture.

In goal, Jack Kortkamp stands out with six starts and 25 saves this season. His performances have earned him recognition as an MLS NEXT All-Star.

Portland Timbers 2 is under the guidance of head coach Serge Dinkota, who took charge in May 2024. Forward Gage Guerra is a standout performer for Portland with significant contributions this season.

Saturday's match marks the midpoint of Sporting KC II's MLS NEXT Pro campaign. They will continue their season against The Town FC on July 13th at Children's Mercy Victory Field.
