The Kansas City Chiefs concluded their offseason training program on Thursday, completing a three-day mandatory minicamp at their facility. This minicamp, operating under "Phase 3" rules and allowing offensive versus defensive drills, marked the end of a three-month preparation period for the upcoming 2025 season.
Head Coach Andy Reid expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "The guys finished up today with a run [test], and did a nice job with it. [Head Strength and Conditioning Coach / Director of Sports Science] Ryan [Reynolds] has done a good job, along with the players, coaches and the rest of the strength staff, of getting these guys in good shape. It showed today…The guys are looking forward to taking a break, but they're also looking forward to ramping up for the season and training camp."
With the minicamp completed, players will now take some time off before reconvening for training camp next month. During Tuesday's practice session open to media members, several notable plays were observed: Patrick Mahomes connected with Isiah Pacheco for a significant gain; JuJu Smith-Schuster impressed with multiple catches; Jason Brownlee made a leaping catch during drills; Nohl Williams intercepted a pass; Skyy Moore continued his strong showing; Travis Kelce caught a touchdown; Cole Christiansen disrupted a goal-line pass; Chamarri Conner broke up a sideline pass; Brandon George secured an interception near the goal line; Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross both scored touchdowns.
On Wednesday, Noah Gray stood out with multiple touchdown catches. Mac Dalena caught an over-the-shoulder pass in the end zone. Drue Tranquill made an impressive leaping pass-breakup. Mike Edwards intercepted a pass over the middle. Jason Brownlee again impressed with an over-the-shoulder touchdown grab. Xavier Worthy scored on a quick crosser in red zone drills. Bryan Cook broke up another pass during team drills.
