Sporting Kansas City is set to face Charlotte FC at Children’s Mercy Park on Wednesday night. This match marks the first meeting between Sporting KC and the 2022 MLS expansion team, Charlotte FC.

According to the league's official Player Status Report, several players from both teams will be unavailable for this match. For Sporting Kansas City, Nemanja Radoja, Dany Rosero, and Robert Voloder are sidelined due to injuries. Zorhan Bassong is on international duty with Canada at the Gold Cup, and Khiry Shelton will miss the game due to a suspension following a red card received against FC Dallas on June 14.

Charlotte FC will also have absentees. Nathan Byrne is out with a neck injury, while Tim Ream and Patrick Agyemang are away on international duty with the U.S. national team. Forward Nimfasha Berchimas is sidelined with a foot injury.
