A man from Mexico, Missouri, has been sentenced in a federal court for his involvement in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy. Jordan Shelton, aged 42, received a sentence of 160 months in federal prison without the possibility of parole. Following his incarceration, he will be subject to four years of supervised release.

Shelton had previously pleaded guilty on January 21, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. His sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes.

The case against Shelton began on August 10, 2022, when officers from the Columbia Police Department and Mexico Police Department executed a search warrant at his residence in Mexico, Missouri. During the search, authorities recovered 47 capsules containing fentanyl along with additional fentanyl powder.

Assistant United States Attorney Jim Lynn prosecuted the case. The investigation was conducted by the Columbia Police Department, Mexico Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
