Sporting Kansas City is set to host Charlotte FC for the first time at Children's Mercy Park on Wednesday. The match, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, with tickets available through SeatGeek.

Sporting Kansas City aims to recover from a recent home defeat against FC Dallas. Charlotte FC, missing U.S. internationals Tim Ream and Patrick Agyemang due to Gold Cup commitments, brings its talents to Kansas City in this cross-conference clash.

This fixture marks the inaugural meeting between Sporting KC and Charlotte FC since the latter joined Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2022. Notably, Sporting has yet to face Charlotte in any competitive match until now.

Sporting's current MLS record stands at 4-10-4, placing them 13th in the Western Conference with 16 points. Forward Dejan Joveljic has been a standout performer for Sporting this season, contributing significantly with ten goals and ranking fourth in MLS goal contributions over four consecutive seasons.

Charlotte FC holds an MLS record of 8-9-1 and sits ninth in the Eastern Conference with 25 points. Midfielder Pep Biel leads Charlotte with twelve goal contributions this season. Despite some defensive challenges, including conceding nine goals after the 75th minute, Charlotte remains formidable when scoring first or leading at halftime.

The game represents an opportunity for both teams to gain valuable points as they continue their respective campaigns in the league.
