A federal grand jury in Springfield, Missouri, has indicted Jason A. Duncan, a 40-year-old resident of Diamond, Missouri, on charges related to illegal firearm possession following a previous felony conviction. Duncan faces three counts of being a felon in possession of firearms. The indictment replaces an earlier complaint filed on June 3, 2025.
According to the indictment, Duncan allegedly possessed several firearms: a Palmetto State Armory rifle and a Taurus pistol on August 19, 2024; a Hi-Point pistol on October 3, 2024; and a Glock pistol on January 23, 2025. Due to his prior felony convictions, federal law prohibits Duncan from possessing firearms.
It is important to note that the charges outlined in the indictment are accusations and not evidence of guilt. A federal trial jury will review the evidence presented and determine Duncan's guilt or innocence.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Wan and was investigated by multiple agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and police departments from Joplin, Seneca, and Springfield in Missouri.
