From June 16 to 20, Governor Mike Kehoe will embark on his first international trade mission in Paris, France. Accompanied by a Missouri delegation, the trip aims to strengthen ties with businesses already established in Missouri and to attract new investments from companies without a current presence in the state.
Governor Kehoe's focus aligns with his economic development priorities of fostering relationships with key international figures and businesses. "We’re looking forward to promoting the Show-Me State as the ideal place to invest during our first international trade mission," he stated. He further emphasized Missouri's existing success in attracting major global investments and expressed hope for further growth opportunities.
The agenda includes meetings with leaders from Boeing, Leonardo DRS, Schneider Electric, and others that have operations in Missouri. Additionally, Governor Kehoe will meet with the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), France’s largest employer federation. His itinerary also includes attending the Paris Air Show, an important event for the aerospace industry, and visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial to honor Missouri’s World War II veterans.
France plays a significant role as a trade partner for Missouri, importing $266 million worth of goods from the state in 2024. Key exports include basic chemicals, navigational/medical control instruments, and electrical equipment components. Currently ranked as the 13th largest export destination for Missouri products, more than 40 French companies operate within the state.
During Governor Kehoe's time abroad, Lieutenant Governor Wasinger will assume responsibilities as Acting Governor under written consent from Governor Kehoe.
The trade mission is supported financially by the Hawthorn Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Missouri. Updates on this initiative can be followed through Governor Mike Kehoe’s social media channels on Facebook and X.
