Governor Kehoe appoints five to state boards

Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced the appointment of five individuals to various boards and commissions. The official appointment letters were filed on Friday, June 13.

Shalonn "Kiki" Curls from Kansas City has been appointed to the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. Former Senator Curls is currently the deputy director of the Heavy Constructors Association of Greater Kansas City. She previously served as commissioner for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, appointed by Governor Parson in 2020. Her legislative career spans 13 years in the Missouri House and Senate representing Jackson County. Curls also serves on several boards including Jobs for America's Graduates and Community Builders of Kansas City.

Logan Hobbs from Jefferson City will serve as chair of the State Board of Mediation. Mr. Hobbs is the director of labor standards for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, overseeing a division responsible for enforcing state labor standards. His previous roles include legislative liaison for the department and supervisor at a private English academy in South Korea. He holds a degree in political science and international relations from Truman State University.

Rhonda Mammen from Springfield has been reappointed to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. Ms. Mammen's background includes directing school counseling services for Springfield School District and instructing master's level courses at Missouri State University. She volunteers with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and holds degrees in education and school counseling from Missouri State University.

Jennifer Schoonover from Trimble is also reappointed to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. As vice president of clinical services at Synergy Services, Inc., she works with survivors of family violence. A certified counselor, Schoonover is involved with the Coalition Against Human Trafficking and earned her degrees from University of Central Missouri.

Kristen Tuohy from Rogersville will continue her role on the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. Ms. Tuohy is Christian County's Prosecuting Attorney with previous experience as First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney there, as well as Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Greene County. She studied political science at University of Missouri-Columbia before earning her Juris Doctor at its School of Law.
