Memorial services announced for former U.S. Senator Kit Bond

Governor Mike Kehoe has announced memorial services to honor the late Christopher S. "Kit" Bond, a former U.S. Senator and Governor of Missouri. Bond passed away on May 13, 2025, in St. Louis at the age of 86.

Governor Kehoe issued a proclamation for U.S. and Missouri flags to be flown at half-staff across all government buildings statewide until sunset on May 22, 2025.

A State Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, at noon in the Rotunda of the Missouri State Capitol. The public is invited to attend this event. Following the service, Bond will lie in state for a 24-hour period to allow people to pay their respects.

Additionally, a celebration of Bond's life will take place on Thursday, May 22, at Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church in St. Louis. This event is open to those who knew and loved him but will not be open to media coverage.
