Children's Mercy revealed a preview of its upcoming $18.3 million clinic in Wichita. The facility is poised to cater to over 10,000 pediatric patients. Spanning 18,000 square feet, the multi-specialty ambulatory center will include 30 exam rooms, an on-site lab, imaging, a family education space, and expanded pediatric care services.

"We want to provide great care here in the community, we want to serve kids locally and be able to keep them close to home," stated Amy Fallon, president of regional operations for Kansas City-based Children's Mercy. This marks the hospital's first standalone project in Wichita, aiming to bring 16 in-person providers across 11 specialties to one location.

Children's Mercy plans to hire nine more physicians and support staff in Wichita for additional services such as neurology, allergy, pulmonary, psychology, and psychiatry. "In the new model, we hope to recruit more physicians to live and work here," commented Mary Ann Queen, vice president and associate chief medical officer for regional and outreach services at Children's Mercy.
