Michael L. Parson, 57th Governor of Missouri | Missouri Gov. Michael Parson
Today marks 100 days since Governor Mike Kehoe assumed office, setting a clear direction for Missouri with a firm approach. Since taking his oath on January 13, 2025, Kehoe has guided a conservative agenda aimed at enhancing public safety, education, workforce availability, economic growth, and agriculture.
In his State of the State Address, Governor Kehoe emphasized his administration's focus on a results-driven, community-focused path. He unveiled a budget plan that aims to be both conservative and financially responsible, while also significantly funding K-12 education, public safety, child care, and state workers.
"As we reach this milestone of 100 days in the Governor's Office, I am humbled by and proud of the progress we’ve made in a short time," said Governor Kehoe. "Our focus remains on delivering practical, commonsense solutions that improve the lives of Missourians across our state—and we’re just getting started."
Governor Kehoe has taken several executive actions during his tenure so far. Among these, he signed six executive orders on his first day to support law enforcement, combat illegal immigration, and strengthen public safety with the Safer Missouri initiative. His administration also terminated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in state agencies, aiming for equal protection under the law. He initiated a School Funding Modernization Task Force and a workforce-focused challenge to align educational pathways with evolving needs. Additionally, the administration coordinated efforts for community support during severe weather episodes.
In collaboration with the General Assembly, several legislative accomplishments have also been achieved. Governor Kehoe signed House Bill 495 to enhance law enforcement capabilities and control illegal immigration, establishing a citizen board for police oversight in St. Louis. Senate Bill 4 was passed to secure local power generation and support economic growth. A supplemental budget for Fiscal Year 2025 was also approved, addressing ongoing government operations and supporting sectors like education, special needs services, law enforcement, and senior care.
As part of his commitment to leadership and governance, Kehoe has appointed approximately 100 individuals to various roles within boards, commissions, the judiciary, and county offices. This includes appointing 74 Missourians to boards and commissions, filling eight county office vacancies, and confirming six judicial positions. The Missouri Senate also confirmed nine department leaders for his Cabinet.
Governor Kehoe looks forward to continuing policies that emphasize accountability and service to the community. Details of initiatives and achievements can be found on the Governor's website.
